Ms. Akdağ previously served as the Secretary General of the Fruit Juice Industry Association (MEYED), during which time she was elected to the Board of Directors of the World Fruit Juice Federation (IFU) and served on the Communication and Experts Group Commissions of the European Fruit Juice Association (AIJN).
She is the first food sector representative from outside the public sector to be selected for the US Embassy's International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP). She was the Chairman of the Special Specialization Commission on Food Products and Reliability in the 10th Development Plan of the Ministry of Development of the Republic of Turkey.
Akdağ, who is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Plant-Based Foods, also tries to spread scientifically based facts through his Food Superstition Hunter account on Instagram, Netmiyiz youtube channel, TV and written interviews, books she translated and edited. In August 2023, her book titled Superstitions on our Table was published.
Ebru Akdağ holds a Bachelor's degree in Food Engineering from Middle East Technical University (METU) and a Master's degree in Engineering Management from METU Industrial Engineering Department. She is currently working on her PhD thesis in communication at Bahçeşehir University.
